Christmas Tree 2014

Well, finally it's done. It's actually been done for two weeks, but I keep switching around where the ornaments are. My family thinks I've lost it.

After a crisis small problem with some broken glass icicles, I had to purchase more. They are not cheap either. I shall be more careful. I did also purchase a dozen or so new ornaments this year too. I like those that represent "us". Some new deer, hearts, noels, and snowmen were hung with care. And yes, the tree is by the chimney *s* Here are some close-ups of some of my ornaments.

A Little Christmas, A Little Winter

This is usually just my winter table, but I've had these cute little balls for a while and couldn't resist. I did find some mini icicles to hang off this tree too! I was indescribably happy when I found that deer canvas. The same place that sells the icicles, is a greenhouse that converts to a Christmas store every year. It's full of inspiration and I love to just wander aimlessly looking at all of their trees and decorations. I felt funny taking pictures in there when I was in, so I only took a few. Maybe I should go back, say heck with it, and bring the big camera lol.

Red, Gold, and Lots of Glitter

Sounds like a great mix if you ask me! I used the red candle holders that I picked up last year at Michaels. The gold deer are from years back at Target. The new gold glitter votives this year I picked up at Michaels also. The wreath is a Balsam Hill prelit that matches the tree. I added some picks and a gold bow. Looking at this wreath makes me all warm and fuzzy. I wanted to leave it up all year because it makes me that happy, but there was an outstanding "NO!" from the peanut gallery.

I've had these gold deer forever now. I did pick up a new tree and that gorgeous lantern at Michaels this year. I love 60% off!!

I have been looking around at all the house tours this year, and I must say...breathtaking! The blog world is so chock full of creativity and you should all be proud of yourselves!

Mixed Metal Mantle

Trying saying that title three times fast lol. I'm really pleased with how it turned out this year. I picked up the red candle holders at Michael's just a few days ago when they put all of there Christmas items for 70%. Perfect time to stock up!! I picked up items that I could use for other holiday's too, which was a real find. I've has some of these reindeer a few years, some came from Target, others from Michael's. I picked up the stocking holders after Christmas a few years back and the paw was from Kohl's right when they put there Christmas goodies out this year. The last picture is a cute tree I picked up this year at Michael's also. Somehow I always wait til the last minute to put up my decorations. It's not like I don't know Christmas is coming, it's not a surprise. My procrastination really annoys me some days. I hope you enjoy the pictures =)

January 12

Yes, this is my Christmas Tree that has been undecorated for a bit now. There's too much snow to wrestle the tree out the door. So it sits there beside me, all naked and lonely.

January 6

Ok, Squeakers won. I finally took the ornaments off the tree today. Still has the lights on it though. Just can't bring myself to part with it. We take it down the road to the boat dock and they dump in the water and the fishies make a reef out of it. And I will bitch for the next 6 months that I have pine needles stuck in my feet.

January 4

This is Squeakers. Squeakers is telling me that the needles are falling off the dead tree and I really need to take the decorations off and drop the thing in the lake for the fishes.
